Using Device Hookup as a Routing tool

Upon first inspection, the Device Hookup tool seems to be a diffuser connector. This is far from the truth. The hookup tool can connect any component to another component as long as it is within the same discipline. A pump is hooked to a pipe, valve or a fitting. A duct is hooked to a tee, filter or a fan. The dynamic functionality in the hookup tool allows visualization of paths between components.

Device Hookup is a powerful tool that obeys the same rules and settings that govern automatic placement during routing in both plumbing and HVAC disciplines. Routing steps are eliminated by using the hookup tool. Minor modifications and edits are then applied after the hookup operation to clean up the design.
